Developed in part by Art Twomey in Boulder Hut Terrain, Boulder Hut founder and avalanche industry pioneer, this course is the first professional level training course for participants seeking employment with avalanche risk management operations. Participants must be advanced skiers or splitboarders and should have considerable backcountry travel experience in accordance with industry standards. The Level 1 course is an essential prerequisite course to other industry-training programs including guiding stream.

The Boulder Hut is host to the  longest running CAA Level 1 Avalanche Course in British Columbia.    Dates Jan 29- Feb 5 2012.
